ESH MPN 2026 | Is there potential for the use of vaccines in MPN treatment?

In this video, Morten Orebo Holmström, MD, PhD, National Center for Cancer Immune Therapy, Herlev Hospital, Copenhagen, Denmark, discusses challenges with integrating vaccine strategies into myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN) treatment. Dr Holmström highlights that for vaccines to be effective, tumor burden must be low and the immune response must be very strong, noting that using vaccines after transplant and in combination with other treatments may optimize outcomes. This interview took place at the ESH 11th Translational Research Conference on Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (ESH MPN 2026) in Estoril, Portugal.
