ESH MPN 2026 | Exploring vaccination strategies in MPNs: the current research landscape

Morten Orebo Holmström, MD, PhD, National Center for Cancer Immune Therapy, Herlev Hospital, Copenhagen, Denmark, discusses how research efforts on vaccination strategies in myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) have declined, with a growing focus on immunotherapies in recent years. Dr Holmström highlights that vaccinations have the potential to be curative; however, the large tumor burden of patients with MPNs poses a significant barrier. This interview took place at the ESH 11th Translational Research Conference on Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (ESH MPN 2026) in Estoril, Portugal.
