ESH MPN 2026 | Outcomes from a study on immune reconstitution after non-myeloablative alloSCT in MF

Morten Orebo Holmström, MD, PhD, National Center for Cancer Immune Therapy, Herlev Hospital, Copenhagen, Denmark, discusses findings from a study on immune reconstitution after allogeneic stem cell transplantation (alloSCT) in myelofibrosis (MF). He highlights an unexpected result: the number of donor-derived T-cells had an impact on non-relapse mortality. Dr Holmström emphasizes that T-cell quantity alone is insufficient for predicting patient outcomes, and future strategies should focus on performing functional immune analyses to better understand post-transplant outcomes. This interview took place at the ESH 11th Translational Research Conference on Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (ESH MPN 2026) in Estoril, Portugal.
