IMS 2026 | Consensus and debate in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma: autoSCT, immunotherapy, & MRD

Elena Zamagni, MD, PhD, University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy, discusses the key points from a roundtable discussion on newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM), highlighting a consensus on the role of autologous stem cell transplantation (autoSCT) and the potential of immunotherapies. Dr Zamagni notes that while there is agreement on the utility of measurable residual disease (MRD) testing, there is some debate on how to use MRD results to tailor treatment. This interview took place at the 23rd International Myeloma Society (IMS) Annual Meeting in Glasgow, UK.
