Elena Zamagni

Academic History

Elena Zamagni, MD, PhD, obtained her medical degree from the University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy, where she completed her residency in hematology. Dr Zamagni also obtained her PhD in clinical hematology at the University of Bologna in May 2005, where she is currently an Assistant Professor. She has contributed to the Italian Society of Haematology, European society of Hematology (EHA) and American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), and is an active member of the board of the GIMEMA/EMN myeloma working party.

Speaking on high dose therapy with stem cell support in multiple myeloma

Dr Zamagni’s primary research focus is on the role of high dose therapy with stem cell support in multiple myeloma. Dr Zamagni also investigates prognostic factors including measurable residual disease, as well as novel therapies and imaging techniques. She has been a principal investigator in several national and international clinical trials in multiple myeloma.
