Meral Beksac, MD, Ankara University, Ankara, Turkey, discusses the results of the Phase II EMN19 trial (NCT04166565), which is evaluating daratumumab in combination with bortezomib, cyclophosphamide and dexamethasone (DaraVCD) for the treatment of patients with multiple myeloma (MM) with extramedullary disease (EMD). The trial reported a benefit with DaraVCD with respect to overall response rate (ORR). Dr Beksac also highlights factors that had an impact on patient response in this trial, namely plasmacytoma number.
