Meral Beksac

Academic History

Meral Beksaç, MD, is a Professor in the Department of Hematology at Ankara University and Director of the Ankara University Unrelated Donor Registry and Cord Blood Bank in Ankara, Turkey. Prof. Beksaç received her medical degree from Hacettepe University, School of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey, where she also completed residency in the Department of Internal Medicine. In 1991, Prof. Beksaç obtained a degree in hematology from Ankara University, School of Medicine Ankara, Turkey. Ankara University, School of Medicine Ankara, Turkey. Dr Beksaç has been a visiting clinician at various institutions, namely at the Karolinska Institute, Heidelberg University, Royal Marsden Hospital and University College Hospital.

Aside from her interest in multiple myeloma, Dr Beksaç also focuses on the immune-genetics of plasma cell disorders and the expansion of HSC and NK-cells from cord blood.
