ICLE 2022 | Genome editing tools in T cell-based immunotherapies

Chiara Bonini, MD, Vita-Salute San Raffaele University & IRCCS San Raffaele Institute, Milan, Italy, describes her presentation on multiple genome editing in T cells for cancer immunotherapy at the International Conference on Lymphocyte Engineering (ICLE) 2022. With advances in gene vector technology that have optimized the transfer and disruption of genes in T cells, ongoing research is focused around finding optimal combinations of tailored therapies. Dr Bonini describes the application of genome editing strategies for the potential treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and comments on the expansion of this approach into other indications. This interview took place at ICLE 2022.
