CAR-T Meeting 2022 | The impact of CAR-T therapy on patient care

Aimee Green, The Christie NHS Fund, Manchester, England, discusses how novel immunotherapies such as chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy have changed the way patients are treated. The introduction of CAR-T therapies in the clinic has created new challenges in patient care. Indeed, it is necessary to ensure patients have access to the appropriate services during the treatment course. In addition, the variability in patient outcomes and treatment-related side effects means that healthcare professionals have had to develop new strategies and procedures to deliver personalized patient care in both clinical practice and clinical trials. Ms Green also explains that it is important to educate local healthcare centers in delivering care for CAR-T patients. This interview took place at the EBMT-EHA 4th European CAR T-cell Meeting which was held virtually in 2022.
