Differentiation syndrome in APL: parallels with IDH and menin inhibitors in AML

Stéphane de Botton, MD, PhD, Gustave Roussy Institute, Paris, France, presents evidence on differentiation syndrome (DS) in acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), drawing parallels with DS seen with IDH and menin inhibitors in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). He highlights the challenge of distinguishing DS from severe infection or disease progression, the key role of steroids, and how reducing tumor burden can lower DS incidence. This presentation took place at the 8th International Workshop on Acute Leukemias (iwAL) in Cambridge, MA.
