Research into the underlying pathology of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) most often focuses on the genetic changes; however, it is becoming apparent that the epigenome plays a large role in leukemogenesis. Here, Iñaki Martín-Subero, PhD, of the Institut d’Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer, Barcelona, Spain, discusses the aberrant epigenetic changes underlying CLL.
