SOHO 2026 | Designing immunotherapy trials in multiple myeloma: how advocacy groups can work with pharma

Doris Hansen, MD, Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa, FL, discusses how patient advocacy groups and the pharmaceutical industry can work together to advance patient-centered immunotherapy trials in multiple myeloma. Dr Hansen highlights the importance of incorporating quality of life, treatment burden, access, and biomarker research into trial design, while better representing high-risk and real-world patient populations. She emphasizes that future trials should evaluate the feasibility of clinical implementation to ensure the right patients receive the right treatment at the right time. This interview took place at the 14th Annual Meeting of the Society of Hematologic Oncology (SOHO 2026) in Houston, TX.
