Academic History

Doris Hansen, MD, is an Assistant Member in the Department of Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapy at the Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa, FL.

After obtaining a medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine, True Blue, Grenada, Dr Hansen completed an Internal Medicine Residency and a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, MS, and a Fellowship in Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapy at Moffitt Cancer Center.

Dr Hansen’s research interests include identifying strategies to extend patient survival and prevent relapse by monitoring measurable residual disease (MRD). Additionally, she is dedicated to creating a CAR-T database for multiple myeloma, aiming to enhance research efforts toward cancer prevention and cure.

Dr Hansen focuses on the use of CAR-T therapies idecabtagene vicleucel (ide-cel) and ciltacabtagene autoleucel (cilta-cel) to treat multiple myeloma. She speaks on the real-world use of these agents and the management of associated toxicities.
