Joseph Mikhael, MD, MEd, FRCPC, FACP, Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), City of Hope Cancer Center, CA, discusses the role of transplantation in consolidation of multiple myeloma (MM), outlining how transplant therapies contribute to the depth of response and highlighting recent studies showing a more durable response in MM patients who receive autologous stem cell transplants compared to those treated with non-transplant strategies.
