Anthony Cirrincione, PhD, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Miami, FL, provides an overview of recent efforts to characterize the genomic origins of multiple myeloma. Despite knowledge of current genomic alterations such as hyperdiploidy and IgH translocations, finding genomic events that precede known alterations will help better understand the pathogenesis of multiple myeloma. This interview took place at the 20th International Myeloma Society (IMS) Annual Meeting, held in Athens, Greece.
