Felicitas Thol, MD, of the Hannover Medical School, Hannover, Germany talks about the AML study group (AMLSG) at the American Society of Hematology Annual Meeting 2017, held in Atlanta, GA. This is a large AML study group with various centres in Germany and Austria. A specific aspect of this study group is that they have trials which also look at the molecular aspects of AML. Dr Thol explains that the speciality of this study group is the two reference labs that do molecular diagnosis of patients within 24 hours. Based on those results, the decision of which trial a patient should enter is determined.
