BSH 2017 | Fatigue after lymphoma treatment – overview of effective interventions

Marije van der Lee, Phd from the Helen Dowling Institute, Utrecht, Netherlands gives an overview of her talk on fatigue in lymphoma patients held at the 2017 British Society for Haematology (BSH) Annual Scientific Meeting in Brighton, UK. Fatigue is a chronic problem after cancer, especially in lymphoma. Group mindfulness-based cognitive therapy was shown to be effective and based on this, they developed an online treatment. Dr van der Lee explains that they finished a trial comparing this intervention with a home-based activity-based intervention and a minimal intervention. Both guided interventions were found to be effective and one of the next steps is to bring this intervention to the UK.
