COMy 2023 | Using real-world data to optimize treatment in patients with multiple myeloma

Claudio Cerchione, MD, PhD, Istituto Scientifico Romagnolo per lo Studio e la Cura dei Tumori (IRST) IRCCS, Meldola, Italy, discusses the importance of evaluating real-world data (RWD) to optimize therapies for patients with multiple myeloma. Dr Cerchione notes that not all agents and combination therapies are tested and compared outside of clinical trials, thus highlighting the importance of collecting and evaluating RWD to select the ideal therapies for individual patients. Dr Cerchione further discusses the benefits of generating dynamic registries with multiple branches of data to optimize the use of the drugs currently available. This interview took place at the 9th World Congress on Controversies in Multiple Myeloma (COMy) 2023, held in Paris, France.
