ICLE 2022 | mRNA delivery for the development of T cell therapies: the potential of polydopamine nanosensitizers

Dominika Berdecka, University of Ghent, Ghent, Belgium, provides an overview of a study presented at the International Conference on Lymphocyte Engineering (ICLE) 2022 into the application of photoporation with polydopamine nanosensitizers for the safe and efficient intracellular delivery of mRNA to unstimulated T cells, to support the development of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell therapies. This study aimed to evaluate the delivery of large biomolecules into lymphocytes with no prior activation and the impact of cell size on delivery efficiency and demonstrated the successful delivery of mRNA following the optimization of photoporation parameters. This interview took place at ICLE 2022.
