Irene Ghobrial, MD, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA, discusses the role of the microenvironment in multiple myeloma precureser conditions from MGUS, to smoldering myeloma to averse myeloma. Specifically, the changes from each disease are explored, including immune changes, such as cellular composition, signalling pathways and gene expression profile.
