Josh Wright, BMedSci (Hons), MBChB, FRCPath, MD, BSH President, discusses unmet needs in the treatment of sickle cell disease (SCD), drawing focus on the need to improve curative agents and services provided to patients. While there has been some improvement in patient care over the last few years, Dr Wright explains that patients with SCD must be given more attention and the same level of care as other hematological diseases. This interview took place at the 62nd Annual Scientific Meeting of the British Society for Haematology (BSH) 2022, in Manchester, UK.
