COMy 2017 | What novel technologies are available for myeloma?

Nikhil Munshi, MD, from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA, discusses promising novel drugs and technologies in the treatment of myeloma at the 2017 World Congress on Controversies in Multiple Myeloma (COMy) in Paris, France. There are novel technologies being developed in the sequencing of RNA, DNA, and microRNA, that will provide information on resistance developments of the disease, and how new drugs can be utilised. Novel drugs are available for the treatment for myeloma, most notably the three drug combination which has shown to have very promising results. Dr Munshi also states that minimal residual disease could be utilised in future studies that may eventually lead to a cure for myeloma.
