Enrique Ocio, MD, PhD, Marquis of Valdecilla University Hospital, Santander, Spain, discusses factors he believes will have the biggest impact on how we define a ‘good outcome’ in relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (R/R MM) in the next 5 years, highlighting the need to incorporate CAR-T into frontline treatment and prioritize treatment-free intervals, quality of life, and patient-derived decisions. Dr Ocio also emphasizes the importance of individualized treatment approaches, such as MRD-guided or risk-guided decisions, to optimize outcomes and minimize adverse events.
