Jorge Cortes, MD, The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Birmingham, AL, discusses findings from a quality-adjusted time without symptoms or toxicity (Q-TWiST) analysis from the Phase III QuANTUM-First trial (NCT02668653) comparing quizartinib versus placebo in newly diagnosed FLT3-ITD-positive acute myeloid leukemia (AML). He highlights that quizartinib improved meaningful time spent in remission without significant toxicity, further supporting the clinical benefit of adding quizartinib to standard chemotherapy. This interview took place at the 31st Congress of the European Hematology Association (EHA) in Stockholm, Sweden.
