Ola Landgren, MD, PhD, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Miami, FL, shares advice for community physicians regarding the treatment of multiple myeloma (MM). In such a rapidly evolving field, physicians need to stay updated to ensure the best care for their patients. Additionally, with more complex new drugs, it is important to know what side effects to look out for, such as cytokine release syndrome (CRS) or immunosuppression, in order to manage them in a timely manner and avoid causing harm. Dr Landgren highlights that more work needs to be conducted to identify optimal administration schedules to balance safety and efficacy. This interview took place during the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
