ASH 2021 | Advice for MDS patients in the COVID-19 era

Amer Zeidan, MBBS, Yale University and Yale Cancer Center, New Haven, CT, offers guidance for patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Dr Zeidan, it is essential for patients to get vaccinated even though their response to the vaccines may be suboptimal, as it has been shown that patients with cancer are at a higher risk of several illness from COVID-19. In addition, it is crucial to continue wearing face masks and maintain social distancing measures. This interview took place at the 63rd ASH Annual Meeting and Exposition congress in Atlanta, GA.
