IMS 2026 | Long-term outcomes with KRd versus Rd in high-risk smoldering multiple myeloma
Dirk van Esser, MD, Erasmus MC Cancer Institute, Rotterdam, Netherlands, discusses long-term follow-up from the EMN15/HOVON147 trial (NCT03673826) comparing carfilzomib, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone (KRd) with lenalidomide and dexamethasone (Rd) in patients with high-risk smoldering multiple myeloma. He highlights higher rates of measurable residual disease (MRD) negativity and improved progression-free survival (PFS) with KRd, alongside higher rates of grade 3 or higher adverse events but no new safety concerns or treatment-related deaths. This interview took place at the 23rd International Myeloma Society (IMS) Annual Meeting in Glasgow, UK.
