Laura Zitella, MS, RN, ACNP-BC, AOCN, University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Health, San Francisco, CA, provides an overview of her talk on the basics of immunology. Ms. Zitella explains that the immune system is composed of two parts that work together to protect us against both external and internal dangers, like malignancies. Ms. Zitella also comments on the different types of immunotherapy. This interview took place at the 16th International Congress on Myelodysplastic Syndromes, held virtually in 2021.
