ASH 2020 | COVID-19: vaccinations for multiple myeloma

Shaji Kumar, MD, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, discusses the challenges of vaccination strategies in patients with multiple myeloma. Given the high risk of poor outcomes with COVID-19 infection in this patient population, it is Dr Kumar’s belief that at least one of the vaccinations will be appropriate. However, when the data becomes available, further guidance will need to be given from the regulatory authorities. This interview took place during the 62nd American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting and Exposition, 2020.
