Nataliya Buxbaum, MD, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, Buffalo, NY, talks on the important role of T-cells in graft-versus-host disease (GvHD). Recent experiments have shown that the T-cells mediating GvHD are glycolytic when entering target organs, which suggests metabolic therapy as a promising strategy to treat GvHD. In addition, this will enable imaging metabolic processes in vivo with MRI. This interview took place at the Transplantation & Cellular Therapy (TCT) Meetings of ASTCT™ and CIBMTR® 2022 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
