Carlo Dufour, MD, G.Gaslini Research Children’s Hospital, Genoa, Italy, discusses the updated guidelines for diagnosing and managing neutropenia. He classifies neutropenia into congenital, acquired, autoimmune, and primary autoimmune, including a new likely acquired category. Dr Dufour stresses the necessity of continuous patient monitoring during the transition from pediatric to adult care, highlighting the differing presentations of neutropenia in children and adults. This interview took place at the 50th Annual Meeting of the EBMT in Glasgow, Scotland.
