Matthew LeBlanc, PhD, RN, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC, discusses a research project exploring differences in treatment access among black and white patients with multiple myeloma, highlighting the importance of addressing inequalities in access to care. Dr LeBlanc discusses the methodology used in this study, as well as the differences observed between each patient population. Results demonstrated that there are significant gaps between the care that black and white patients receive, which is an important topic to address, especially in the era of novel agents. This interview took place at the 20th International Myeloma Society (IMS) Annual Meeting, held in Athens, Greece.
