BSH 2023 | New guidelines for the management of neutropenia & challenges in this space
Carlo Dufour, MD, G.Gaslini Research Children’s Hospital, Genoa, Italy, discusses updated guidelines and recommendations for the management of neutropenia in pediatric and adult patients. Prof. Dufour first highlights updates made in the diagnosis and post-diagnosis management of neutropenia. Following this, Prof. Dufour explains that nomenclature issues have been further clarified in these new guidelines, and then goes on to discuss the importance of monitoring patients carefully to prevent progression to a leukemic or pre-leukemic state. This interview took place at the 63rd Annual Scientific Meeting of the British Society for Haematology (BSH) 2023, held in Birmingham, UK.
