COMy 2022 | The importance of patient perspectives and real-world data

Xavier Leleu, MD, MSc, PhD, Poitiers University Hospital, Poitiers, France, discusses the importance of appreciating the patient perspective when making treatment decisions and the importance of real-world data. Prof. Leleu first compares the difference between patients voicing their opinions with treatment decisions in the US versus Europe, and further explains how quality of life is more frequently discussed now between patients and treating physicians. Prof. Leleu then comments on the importance of real-world data and the need to use real-world data with clinical trial data to better understand the outcomes of treatment approaches. This interview took place at the 8th World Congress on Controversies in Multiple Myeloma (COMy) 2022, held in Paris, France.
