EBMT 2023 | Safety and efficacy of CD45RA+-depleted DLI in pediatric stem cell transplant recipients

Antonio Pérez-Martínez, MD, PhD, La Paz University Hospital, Madrid, Spain, comments on the safety and efficacy of CD45RA+-depleted donor lymphocyte infusions (DLIs) to revert lymphopenia in pediatric stem cell transplantation (SCT) recipients, explaining the rationale for this approach. Overall, this strategy was found to reduce cytomegalovirus (CMV) reactivation, maintain the graft-versus-leukemia (GvL) effect, decrease transplant-related mortality, and increase overall survival (OS). This interview took place at the 49th Annual Meeting of the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) held in Paris, France.
