Thomas Martin, MD, UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, San Francisco, CA, discusses the milieu of emerging data surrounding bispecific T-cell engagers (BiTEs) for the treatment of multiple myeloma. Dr Martin highlights the investigation of BiTEs targeting different antigens and their differences in efficacy and side effect profile. Dr Martin goes on to discuss the clinical pros and cons of using different myeloma targets, such as the ability to switch targets when a patient becomes refractory.
