SOHO 2021 | The influence of the TME on progression and outcomes in follicular lymphoma

Jessica Okosun, MA, MB BChir, MRCP, FRCPath, PhD, of the Barts Cancer Institute, London, UK, gives an overview of our current knowledge regarding the influence of the tumor microenvironment (TME) on disease progression and outcomes in follicular lymphoma. Dr Okosun describes how the TME is critical for lymphoma B-cells to evade the immune system, making it a viable therapeutic target; however, it is unclear whether the mechanisms during early development and later progression are the same. Dr Okosun also talks on the impact of therapies on the TME and how different TME profiles may confer a survival advantage. This interview took place during the ninth annual meeting of the Society of Hematologic Oncology (SOHO 2021) congress.
