Academic History

Jessica Okosun, MA, MB BChir, MRCP, FRCPath, PhD, is a clinical senior lecturer at the Barts Cancer Institute, Queen Mary University of London, London, UK, and consultant hematologist at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London, UK. Dr Okosun undertook her medical degree at the University of Cambridge, Cambridge, UK, and completed her medical and specialty hematology training in London. Dr Okosun’s research focuses on the the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying the development of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, with a focus on follicular lymphoma. Dr Okosun was awarded the Royal College of Pathologists Specialty Research Medal for the research she conducted during her Clinical Research Fellowship with Professor Jude Fitzgibbon, investigating the genetic heterogeneity underlying follicular lymphoma and the progression of this disease.

Dr Okosun’s research interests surround the understanding of the genetics and molecular processes driving lymphoma initiation and progression, and identifying novel biomarkers to be used in clinical practice.
