ASH 2020 | MyHOPE: pilot trial of a new digital platform for myeloma patients

Noopur Raje, MD, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA discusses an investigation of a digital technology platform, My Hematology Oncology Patient Experience (MyHOPE) for use in multiple myeloma patients. MyHOPE intends to collect patient-reported outcome data such as symptoms, medication adherence, and health-related quality of life, which can be shared with their medical care team. This may improve patient’s care experience and patient-reported outcomes, as well as supporting clinical decision making. Over 100 patients from 30 study sites will be enrolled in the pilot trial and randomized to the patient app plus healthcare provider portal, or the patient app alone. Platform feasibility and patient empowerment will be analyzed as primary trial objectives. This interview took place during the 62nd American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting and Exposition, 2020.
