Wally Smith, MD, Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA, discusses what to expect from the first ever special scientific session he is co-chairing on race and science. There will be scientific presentations as well as personal stories from individuals with first-hand insight of healthcare disparities and racism. The session will encourage discussion about race in relation to health and science. This interview took place during the 62nd American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting and Exposition, 2020.
