COMy 2019 | Genomic patterns in smoldering myeloma enhance timing of treatment initiation

Nikhil Munshi, MD, of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA, discusses genomic patterns in smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM), as identified by whole genome sequencing (WGS). Dr Munshi explains that different stages of the disease are driven by either AID or APOBEC, which allow the patient to receive either preventative strategies or initiation of treatment in the clinical setting. This interview took place at the Controversies in Multiple Myeloma (COMy) 2019 World Congress in Paris, France.
