ERIC CLL 2026 | Autoimmune cytopenias in patients with CLL on venetoclax-based therapy: outcomes from an ERIC study

Marta Coscia, MD, PhD, University of Insubria, Varese, Italy, discusses the final analysis of a European Research Initiative on CLL (ERIC) study that investigated autoimmune cytopenias in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) receiving venetoclax-based therapy, highlighting that these treatments benefited patients with pre-existing autoimmune cytopenias. Prof. Coscia also notes that treatment-emergent autoimmune cytopenias were less common than in patients receiving venetoclax monotherapy, and that these events are easily managed with standard treatments. This interview took place at the 2026 ERIC International Meeting in Barcelona, Spain.
