COMy 2017 | Promising uses for PET/CT and MRI in clinical practice

Elena Zamagni, MD, PhD, from the Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Policlinico S. Orsola, Malpighi, Bologna, Italy, discusses important papers recently published by the International Myeloma Working Group at the 2017 World Congress on Controversies in Multiple Myeloma (COMy) in Paris, France. The first was regarding the use of novel imaging techniques, such as PET/CT or MRI, both in clinical trials and clinical practice. The second focused on the use of these novel techniques to assess for example bone marrow involvement, or disease metabolism to determine response to treatment, and the third discussed the use of these imaging techniques in prognosis.
