ESH MPN 2026 | How may a machine learning approach help to redefine the biological continuum for MPNs?

Yu-Hung Wang, MD, PhD, National Taiwan University Cancer Center, Taipei City, Taiwan, discusses how machine learning may be used to redefine the myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) continuum, sharing insights from a recent study. Dr Wang highlights that the wide distribution of MPN cases across the 3D plot indicates that MPNs represent a broad biological continuum with different evolutionary trajectories rather than the discrete diagnostic labels currently used for classification. This interview took place at the ESH 11th Translational Research Conference on Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (ESH MPN 2026) in Estoril, Portugal.
