Kjeld Schmiegelow, MD, Rigshospitalet University Hospital, Copenhagen, Denmark, shares the key findings from the population-based Nordic/Baltic acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) Nordic Society for Paediatric Haematology and Oncology (NOPHO) ALL2008 protocol. Overall, it was found that adult and pediatric patients have a distinct distribution of high-risk genetic factors and that there was a strong correlation between age and measurable residual disease (MRD) levels after induction therapy, and in addition, the study found that adolescent and adult patients have worse outcomes that pediatric patients. This interview took place at the Tenth Annual Meeting of the Society of Hematologic Oncology (SOHO) held in Houston, TX.
