Joaquin Martinez-Lopez, MD, PhD, of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Madrid, Spain, talks on a study analyzing survival outcomes in patients with multiple myeloma in a third-level hospital. Data from approximately 1000 patients across 20 years was analyzed to determine the impact of novel agents, including those in clinical trials, on patient outcomes. It was found that survival outcomes have significantly improved over the last five years, particularly in younger patients. This interview took place during the 18th International Myeloma Workshop (IMW 2021) congress.
