ASH 2020 | How has COVID-19 affected the myeloma field?

Daniel Auclair, PhD, Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, Norwalk, CT, shares his thoughts on what the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us and how it will continue to affect the myeloma field going forward. For example, the widespread introduction of telemedicine has completely changed access to doctors and will likely be an approach used for a long time to come. It has additionally impacted the research focuses in the myeloma field, with more thought going into treatment options that could minimize the number of clinic visits. Dr Auclair believes much needed developments have been brought about by the pandemic.
