IACH 2021 | Post-transplant complications and their management

Iskra Pusic, MD, Washington University in St. Louis, St. Louis, MO, provides insights into the complications that can arise following stem cell transplantation and comments on the methods used to manage them. Post-transplant complications include risk of relapse and graft-versus-host disease (GvHD), as well as complications due to factors present in the pre-transplantation, peri-transplantation and early post-transplantation periods. Dr Pusic explains that survivorship programs have been developed for patients undergoing transplantation. This interview took place at the 4th Annual Meeting of the International Academy for Clinical Hematology (IACH), which took place virtually in 2021.
