In this video, Shahzad Raza, MD, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH, briefly discusses an analysis that used the SEER database to investigate the evolving mortality trends in multiple myeloma (MM). Dr Raza highlights that patients who survive beyond three years may now succumb to cardiovascular and infectious diseases rather than multiple myeloma itself, underscoring the need for robust survivorship programs to address the complex medical issues faced by patients living longer with the disease. This interview took place during the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
