ASH 2021 | An analysis of shared treatment decision-making in patients with R/R DLBCL

In this video, Mallory Yung, MPH, Avalere Health, Washington, DC, shares some interesting findings from a study which evaluated the implementation of shared decision-making amongst patients, caregivers, and oncologists in patients with relapsed/refractory (R/R) diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). This study used semi-structured interviews to better understand what preferences and values the patients and caregivers had regarding their involvement in treatment decision-making. Ms Yung then discusses some of the results of this study, which answered questions including what patients or caregivers wish they had during treatment, whether patients and caregivers felt they could express preferences during treatment, and how patients would have appreciated extra support in areas such as mental health and nutrition during treatment. This interview took place at the 63rd ASH Annual Meeting and Exposition congress, Atlanta, GA, 2021.
